Sum would cheer...

the* death of Keynesian Economics, but a super Congress? Compromise is the art of not making anyone truly happy. Not to mention metaphor happy, or blossom.

[My sum mary: the sum will cheer...BULLY[!]

[And some will whine. EXTREME RHETORIC ALERT for link one of the previous three. While in all actuality, I can agree that people are dying, and there are forces alligned against the common good to blame, I cannot use the Hitler analogy that LaRouche utilizes, though the results do border on treason, it is for the people to decide not a determination that can be legally formed. Glass-Steagall is probably one solution, and the offensive PDF probably summarizes the deal accurately, and the only good thing that can come from this hyper-rhetoric is if it works, but it should not make too many people happy that it does. There is also something about the table which links what seems to be a common cause of both La Rouche and Tea Party supporters(at least of the more pragmatic and incremental Libertarian strain).]

The Jig is Up?

Metaphors aside the Debt Ceiling "negotiations" may require a short-term vote.

[Cut, Cap and Balance: Cutting Jobs, Capping Responsibility, and Balancing on Disaster. That is a not only a non-starter it is a nation ender. Spending is not the problem, Congressional responsibility is, and we know which party. The House sets the budget, with the approval of the Senate and with only a veto threat by the President. A balanced budget amendment with a cap on percentage of GDP is a form of capping the mechanisms of government to get anything done.]

[Disrespected Sources: Whiner of the House.]
[Debt Picture 101: or cut, cap and balance.]

* Lawrence O'Donnell, Howard Fineman, polls and results.

[7-28-11: Down Riggers and Reel Leders set the bait. There are apparently three options: something that will pass the senate without the presidents veto, a clean bill or no bill. And no bill (to mix metaphors) is a punch to the tackle box. Section 4 of the 14th Amendment(see bait) not only is the right solution, as the debt ceiling is probably not constitutional. It makes no sense to pass budgets that are not paid for, let alone put the present administration on the hook for earlier non-sense.]
[7-29 Thom Hartmann , Rerun O'Donnell- Nancy Pelosi and Grand Bargain: Leg 101.
Stephanie Miller: Leg 102., Debt 201. NG 7-29. N.G. Prophesied: Two weeks for John Boehner as Speaker, since he cannot control his people. I don't think they want to control their people, so he may remain. It leaves a bit of denial to the party, or would be a total association with them if they replaced him with someone who could.]
[7-30 I'm conflicted or caught in a net, is it deal or bounced check? If you can expect a deal why not a clean bill? How about a no bumber stickers or banners and slogans, pledge? But get a deal done or the president will have the biggest line item veto any Republican could wish for. Or invoke the 14th Amendment, impeach and MoveOn. Clean deal or no deal?]

Obama 2012

The appropriate follow up for Economics 2011
Netting it big with Bridge Poker.

Week old Last Word: It is not Republican checkers against Obama and N-dimensional chess, it is whatever you call the Republican bored games against Obama*** and his Bridge Poker*. That is my take, not Lawernce O'Donnell's.

[My guess is that whatever is voted on will be politically beneficial**, win or lose.]

*more than just the table games
** for Democrats
*** not much of a chess player myself, I think it is a bad metaphor. A bit more of a poker player and less of a bridge player, I did not know there was actually the game of Bridge Poker. But negotiations are one thing and politics is more the thing, so a bit of Go Fish might be thrown in. And if wishes were fishes we'd be fed up.
[Belated Happy Birthday to MSNBC!]

[Later in the day, apparently Speaker Boehner bails out or has taken the bait: Remarks by the President:
So they will come down here at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow. I expect them to have an answer in terms of how they intend to get this thing done over the course of the next week. The American people expect action. I continue to believe that a package that is balanced and actually has serious debt and deficit reduction is the right way to go. And the American people I think are fed up with political posturing and an inability for politicians to take responsible action as opposed to dodge their responsibilities.

[On the other hand, in context:
Redistribution has a "from" side (taxation) and a "to" side (spending). On the "from" side, the notion that government should use taxation to increase rather than decrease equality is hardly Marxist. [7-21-11 Fair and Balanced, and Leaning Back: "Cry me a river" Michael Steele leans back at Joan Walsh's Obama/Reagan comparison(Fair link - 3:20) on MSNBC's Hardball, but the reality is that Obama as a Senator and as a President fits the bill of the history. Bleep 'n Compromise

The President is speaking out of both sides of his mouth,
because he is the President of both sides of the country;
Spending, short term, long term.
Entitlements slash safety needs.
Media slash Try Pod of perspective*.

*unintentional pun of an insert @TryP: Do you remember where Obama was when he said that? In the Senate, but he was talking about both Houses of Congress. The Buck Stops Here, actually it starts in the House (per the constitution) and must pass the Senate. Do you remember who is the majority in the House at the present time? Republicans. Understood in this light, I am sorry he regrets his Senate vote.

[7-14-11 Follow-up: "Nelson's proposal was designed to ensure that Social Security recipients receive their checks in the event of a default, mandating that the program's obligations no longer count against the overall debt limit." N-oddly Enough...

[7-17-11 updating in progress]

I intend to expound upon the derivative-lined analogy(see Hint there).
To begin with, I had expounded upon the Murdoch troubles and 'N NPR report on my way into the NWRoots Conference. The NPR report had noted that Murdoch had influence, but it was not necessarily what made the difference in** elections in the light of his selecting a winner, not making a winner, and that it was more about money(power) than ideology(which needs more light or shading). Warren Buffet reflects some of this area that I 4shadow or shame. And Maher's remarks almost bring to color the ironic balance of logic.

By George...

I think that President Obama has got it. No Goldilocks, but the middle road between Boehner and Whiner. While no hot dog or Bush the Unitary Executive, some on the right have said he can "get her done".
